FIPI (Foreign Investor Portfolio Investment) and LIPI (Local Investor Portfolio Investment) are NCCPL's daily tallies of who bought and sold on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. FIPI nets all foreign investor activity; LIPI breaks local activity into categories — individuals, mutual funds, banks, insurance companies, companies, brokers, and other organisations. Together they show whose money moved the market each session.

Foreign investors are the market's swing participant: their sustained buying has historically accompanied re-ratings of the KSE-100, while sustained selling pressures both prices and the rupee. Because every session is disclosed, FIPI is one of the most-quoted numbers in Pakistani financial journalism.
